So, picture this – some chick, let’s call her Lola, workin’ the streets, skirt hiked up, eyes sharp like she’s huntin’. One hell of a time

Inspired by prints based on a popular Japanese story of a 15th-century courtesan called Hell, Kawanabe Kyōsai cleverly converted symbolism of the Buddhist hells—such as damned souls .

Man, what a day! Seriously, Kyosai is wild. I woke up late, like, super late. My alarm? Totally ignored it. So, I’m rushing outta my tiny apartment on Hanamichi Street, coffee in one hand, half-eaten toast in the other. Classic me, right?
