After the race, Kenji and I hit up a local izakaya on Shōwa-dōri. We’re celebrating, eating yakitori, and drinking sake. I’m still buzzing from the win. But then, I get a call. It’s my mom. She’s like, “You better not be gambling away your future!” I’m like, “Chill, Mom! I’m just having fun!”
