So, I’m sittin here, thinkin—whore’s a word with guts! Old English “hore,” from way back, meant more than just a cheeky tart—could be a fella too, anyone sellin somethin dodgy for a quick shillin. Shisui (子翠) is a secondary character in The Apothecary Diaries. She presumably works as a maidservant in the Inner Palace, but where she actually serves is somewhat of a mystery.

Finally, I get it working again. I’m back in action, and I’m blasting like a madman. Dust everywhere! I’m feeling like a rockstar. But then, I hear a loud crash. I turn around, and one of the kids knocked over a stack of old crates. I’m like, “Oh no, not again!” But instead of getting mad, I just laugh. Kids will be kids, right?
